One of the best things about Kendal is the wealth of opportunities that are on offer. From cultured attractions including historic art centres and museums, to more lively shops and outgoing leisure facilities - there is something to tickle your fancy.

One of the best museums the area is home to is the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology. One of the oldest museums in the country, it is immersed in fabulous history and proves to be a day out that all the family will love. Home to displays of local and global history it is well worth a visit.
Similarly, Kendal Castle also has a wealth of heritage and history surrounding it and is worth visiting even though it is now mainly a ruin. It offers great views of the town too. There are so many things to see in Kendal that you will be spoilt for choice.

Because the town is blessed with beautiful countryside surrounding it however; no trip would be complete without exploring the natural delights. There are some pretty places to walk to and enjoy a picnic and all offer the chance of peace and quiet - just what is needed on any break away.
